Lens Compare has no data

Lens shows no error code on screen for this message; E-LENS-COMPARE-NO-DATA is this documentation's name for it. Quote it when you contact the Lens team.

What happened

You opened Lens Compare with Compare Runs on the Timing Review tab, and it has no data.

Likely cause

Lens Compare can use any build registered in the project.

Its run lists are filled from the saved runs of every build registered in the project, so an empty Lens Compare means that no run has been saved yet: either no scenario has been analysed in Timing Review, or the runs you expect were saved under a build that is not registered in this project. When that is the case, the panel itself says No runs found. Run analysis in Timing Review (Run Scenario), or, if your results are in another build, switch the active build in Build Manager (Configure → select the build → Set Active).

Fix

This usually resolves itself. When a project opens, Lens merges the build folders it finds into the project's build registry, and switches the active build to one that has runs.

If Lens Compare still has no data, set an active build explicitly:

  1. On the Timing Review tab, select Configure… to open the Build Manager.
  2. Select a build, then click Set Active. This sets the active build for that build's own tool only.

After you run an analysis, Lens merges the build folder that received the run into the registry, so Lens Compare sees the new run without reopening the project.

If that does not work

Comparison is same-tool only: Lens Compare does not compare a PrimeTime run against a Fusion Compiler run.

If none of this helps, contact the Lens team through the channel you were given with your access to Lens, quote E-LENS-COMPARE-NO-DATA, and include what the screen said.
